POSITIONS
This is a collection of works exploring posing, photography and choreography.
Score for a Sequence of Poses, Hold and Arrangement were first exhibited, alongside the series Parts, in the solo exhibition Positions at Siobhan Davies Dance, London (GB) in 2015.
SCORE FOR A SEQUENCE OF POSES
Score for a Sequence of Poses are photographic scores that use fragments of positions appropriated from pin-up photography in order to describe potential movement. The poses and gestures are repeated in a sequence of modulating patterns, inviting choreographic interpretation. Longer or shorter exposure times while printing the pictures introduce a temporal element to the sequence.
HOLD
Hold is a continuous slide projection. Its many different slides each rephotograph a small section of one single picture found in a vintage pin-up magazine, thus both breaking down the original image and rebuilding it, accentuating its parts and extending their temporality.
Hold is also a 5min 26sec video work:

ARRANGEMENT (AFTER IRVING KLAW)
Arrangement (after Irving Klaw) utilises three risqué photographs taken by Irving Klaw in the 1950s of Bettie Page and other pin-up models. The purchased photographs are reframed, so that a passepartout conceals most of the photographs, leaving only an isolated section of each picture available for the viewer to see. The passive poses are transformed into dynamic gestures.
