LIMIN
Limin / 2021-22 / pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta, black table
27.6cm x 541.2cm, table height 25cm
from the series Nocturnal Pieces
The work Limin (Latin: threshold) is a scan of the doorframe that leads into Stenram’s bedroom, the site of sleeping and dreaming. It is a line of demarcation, an entrance or an exit. Limin invokes the idea of the threshold as a transition from one state or time to another; in its flattening-out it also becomes a physical barrier or border within the exhibition itself.
The print is more than 5 metres long and is presented on a freestanding 25cm-high table.
Limin was first exhibited in Stenram's exhibition Cadastral at Fotografisk Center, Copenhagen. and the production was made possible through an artist's grant from Stiftung Kunstfond / Neustart Kultur
